About Nora

My name is Nora (she/her). I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a counselling background and over a decade of experience across mental health, alcohol and other drug services, suicide postvention, forensic settings, residential services, and student counselling.

Since relocating to Canberra in 2019, I have continued working in complex mental health settings and have also contributed to social work and allied health education through guest speaking and training roles at the University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology.

I offer individual therapy and Focused Psychological Strategies under Medicare for people with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. Private referrals are also welcome.

I work with adults seeking support with:

• alcohol and other drug use
• anxiety and stress
• low mood and depression
• grief and loss
• life transitions and adjustment
• relationships and interpersonal challenges
• identity, belonging, and self-understanding
• general counselling and psychotherapy

You do not need to have a clear diagnosis or label to seek support. If something feels difficult, overwhelming, or no longer sits quite right, that is reason enough to reach out.

My approach is calm, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that people’s experiences are shaped by far more than symptoms alone. I aim to provide a space where you can slow down, make sense of what is happening in your life, and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable.

My work draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, psychoeducation, and solution-focused strategies.

I also provide clinical supervision to early-career and developing practitioners working across mental health and alcohol and other drug settings.
